Roslyn was the proud Keynote Speaker and one of three panelist participants for the Preview Screening event at the Tampa Theatre for a PBS documentary series called "Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies".
She was also the selected Keynote Speaker for the "Together in Hope" Conference at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas.
Those fighting cancer
At just 29 years old, Roslyn faced a stark reality: cancer had invaded her lymph nodes, with a tumor pressing against the main artery to her brain. The moment her doctor uttered those 3 chilling words, "You have cancer," her world was turned upside down. She was terrified. But after starting chemotherapy treatment with all its nasty side effects, Roslyn turned to her parents' amazing strength and never-give-up attitude as inspiration in her fight to beat cancer and overcome many other life obstacles.
Her mother, a survivor of the Holocaust, defied all odds when she battled and conquered cancer for over two decades, despite initial grim prognoses. Meanwhile, her father, a survivor of the Nagasaki atomic bomb as a Prisoner of War, outlived dire predictions after a massive heart attack and extensive bypass surgery. Both remarkable WWII survivors defied medical expectations time and again, embodying unwavering courage and an unyielding spirit.
Inspired by their indomitable will, Roslyn has taken on a new mission. She now stands before cancer patients and their caregivers, sharing not just her own cancer journey but also the incredible stories of her parents. Through her words and experiences, she imparts a message of hope, resilience, and the power of a never-give-up attitude. Roslyn is an inspiration, carrying forward her parents' legacy and illuminating a path of courage for those navigating their own health crises.
In her inspirational presentations, Roslyn embodies the essence of perseverance, echoing her parents' mantra that with determination and resilience, one can overcome even the darkest of challenges. Her story is a testament to the human spirit's capacity to triumph over adversity, offering a profound reminder that courage knows no bounds when fueled by love and unwavering support.
