OTTAWA, Ontario. --- Barrhaven-based author, speaker and counselor Roslyn Franken will team up with Steve and Sharon Lowell, who survived a seven year ordeal with mental illness, to present a seminar to help those who suffer with depression. Roslyn will be a guest speaker at the four hour program called “The 4 Dimensions of Healing” which will be held on Sunday November 25 at the Minto Suites Hotel in Ottawa.
For most of her life, Sharon has fought a daily struggle with suicidal depression and other related illnesses. Mr. Lowell watched his own health fail, his finances dwindle, his debt load skyrocket and his quality of life fade due to the destruction caused by his wife’s severe depression, anxiety, sleep disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. They lost their home, their life’s savings, all of their investments and they ended up over $150,000 in debt as Sharon succumbed to the devastating forces of her illnesses.
After years of trial, error, research and expense, Sharon has been able to gain control over her illnesses and the Lowells have been able to put their lives back together. Now they are ready to reach out and share with others what they have learned about living with and recovering from mental illness. The content of the four hour seminar is designed to help those who suffer with depression, anxiety and emotional distress to become more directly involved in their own healing by leveraging what the Lowells refer to as “the four dimensions of healing”; the physical dimension, the spiritual dimension, the dimension of the mind and the dimension of natural law.
“It wasn’t until I properly prepared myself from the inside out that I was able to see any real results from medical care.” says Sharon. “After I did that, I was able to combine my own understanding of the four dimensions of healing with the expertise of my doctors, and things really changed!”
So how does Roslyn fit in? Not only is Roslyn Franken the author of “The A List; 9 Guiding Principles for Healthy Eating and Positive Living”, she also knows a thing or two about healing; she’s a cancer survivor! As a long time friend of the Lowells, they have seen each other struggle through the toughest of times that life has to dish out and they have all come out on top. Roslyn will be sharing her own personal testimonial on how she drew strength from within to get through the devastation of cancer and cancer treatment, and how these same principles can be applied to overcoming depression and emotional illness.
“It is important to remember we all have the power of conscious choice. We can choose every thought we have, every belief we hold and every action we take. We must learn to choose wisely.” Roslyn Franken.
