About The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation
The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is the only organization committed to increasing cancer survivorship throughout Eastern Ontario. The Cancer Foundation funds innovative cancer research, treatment, patient care and expansion in support of The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, the Ottawa Health Research Institute and community cancer programs. Last year in Eastern Ontario, more than 6,000 area residents learned they have cancer. By 2010, the lifetime risk of developing cancer for all of us will approach 50%. The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation believes that the magnitude and complexity of the problem exceeds the capacity of a single organization. That is why they partner with health care institutions, cancer associations and community leaders like those who invested time and energy in organizing this event to generate resources in support of cancer providers in our community.
